Last week in Kuala Lumpur I presented my work and shared some experiences on working on projects and assignments. The Republik, run by a good friend of mine Vignes Balasingam, hosted the presentation, which was held at a Artisan Roast café in Taman Tun Dr. Ismail (TTDI) area.
Many of those who attended had previously joined a photo workshop held by Amnesty International Malaysia, tutored by Vig Balasingam. The workshop was planned for few days but turned out into more than two months of intensive tutoring in making a photo-story. They are young photo enthusiasts who were first interested in photography by using plastic cameras. Some hoped to attend this year’s Angkor Photo Workshop in Cambodia but were not confident that they would get selected. Vig invited me to share my work to help encourage them, since I had attended the workshop in 2009. Truth is I was not confident as well back then, but if you don’t try then you’ll never know.
Thank you Vig, The Republik and all who attended. I really appreciate the opportunity to share my work and absorb new energy from all of you.
