Yani and Suryadi pre-wedding photos and wedding snapshots

My younger brother Suryadi has just got married. He is the third son, yet the first to get married. He married his schoolmate from junior high school Yani—they have known each other since then but only started seeing each other since school reunion three years ago. They both work in Jakarta, but both families are in Yogyakarta, our houses are not very far from each other. Our parents’ history helped bring our families together: Yani’s father and our mother were schoolmates back in Kutoarjo, C. Java.

The couple asked me to take additional casual pre-wedding photos of them last month, 26 January 2017. I also decided to take more additional casual photos when they tied the knot last weekend, 18 February 2017. Congratulations, brother! May you two live happily ever after. God bless!

Snapshots from Malaysia, May 2013

In May to early June 2013, I visited Malaysia for almost two weeks for my girlfriend’s sister’s wedding. The wedding ceremony was held according to Chinese customs in her hometown, Ipoh, Perak state. A week later the newlyweds registered their marriage in Kuala Lumpur, where they also had a not-so-Chinese style dinner banquet. Between Ipoh and KL, I and my girlfriend made a short visit to George Town, Penang state, and to Langkawi, Kedah state.

Mira and Dito wedding snapshots

When Dito told me he already proposed Mira, it was not really a surprise as their marriage was kind of expected, but it still surprised me as I didn’t think it would be this soon. Well ‘soon’ maybe is not the right word as Mira and Dito have been seeing each other since… well… uhmmm… at least 2005. Maybe longer. But still, I didn’t think it would be this soon.

I attended their wedding not as a photographer, but as always I couldn’t hold not to take pictures. So I became their unofficial wedding photographer (and at some point I also became Mira’s unofficial bestman, unofficial fake nail guy, and unofficial videographer as well). Here are some snapshots I took from the wedding.
