Assisting for “Kepingan Kisah Nusantara” photo exhibition with Unit Fotografi UGM

I have been asked to help assist a number of Unit Fotografi UGM members who recently went to Student Community Service / Community Empowerment Learning (Kuliah Kerja Nyata), who wishes to present photographs they had taken while they were there in an exhibition. I helped editing their photographs, also making sequences for the exhibition.

Nadya Ajlina went to North Toraja in South Sulawesi (Celebes), Deano Damario went to East Kutai in East Kalimantan (Borneo), Pandhit Pringgo Harjo went to Banggai Islands in Central Sulawesi, Fenni Nursita Sari went to Manggarai in East Nusa Tenggara, while Tria Baeti Setiadini went to Pulo Breueh in Aceh.

The exhibition will take place at Kelas Pagi Yogyakarta’s gallery, Monday to Wednesday, 3–5 December 2018. Opening reception on Monday 7 pm.

Assisting John Stanmeyer and Linda Bournane Engelberth photography workshop in Yogyakarta

I have been assisting a photo story workshop by National Geographic photographer John Stanmeyer and his VII Photo Agency colleague Linda Bournane Engelberth in Yogyakarta this month. John contacted me in May asking me to help organise the workshop, first by finding a hotel to host the workshop as well as finding local fixers for the participants, while also assist some of the participants with preliminary research for their stories.

The workshop was conducted 15–22 August 2018 with 16 participants: Jake Borden, Jordan Sirek, Susann Tischendorf, Ghadah Alrawi, Ellen Moffatt, Irene Barlian, Dottie Bond, Ned Pennock, Jacek Konieczny, Amisha K. Patel, Brenda Bancel, Olivia Bancel, Leo Hirsch, Dave Weathers, Tyler J. Blodgett, and the sponsored participant Ana Setyardyani Putri.

Curator’s assistant for “Penak Jamanku Po?”

This September, I am working as curator Agung Kurniawan’s assistant in researching and preparing Penak Jamanku Po? exhibition at UGM’s Pusat Kebudayaan Koesnadi Hardjasoemantri (PKKH). Besides Agung Kurniawan, I am also working with Aisyah Hilal (PKKH Manager) and Nindias Nur Khalika (volunteer coordinator). The exhibition opened last night and runs through 2 October (opens daily 10.00–21.00).
